What did AI actually solve?

Try cleanup on one short copy and judge the result with your ears. The useful promise is an easier comparison before you rerecord—not guaranteed rescue of every noisy clip.

01

What changed

You finish recording a short introduction, then notice the room more than the voice. A fan hums. The walls add an echo. Before recording everything again, there is a small experiment worth considering: process a copy and decide whether you prefer it.

Adobe documents Enhance Speech as a way to reduce background noise and adjust speech in an uploaded recording. Its help page describes selecting a file, comparing original and processed audio, and downloading the result. This is an existing tool, not a newly announced breakthrough. Our guide checks the instructions and access terms; we have not tested its output ourselves.

The current Adobe Podcast plan page lists a free audio-only option: one upload at a time, up to 30 minutes and 500 MB per file, with one hour of processing per day. Adjustment controls, bulk uploads, and video support are listed with the paid offering. Check the account’s current access before relying on those features.

02

What this could change for you

Our suggested first use is a short, nonconfidential recording of your own voice. Keep the original file. Choose a passage you can listen to carefully from start to finish, rather than using an important interview as your first experiment.

Upload a copy through Enhance Speech, let it process, and compare the same passage in both versions. Focus on the words, the voice’s natural character, and the background you actually want to keep. The question is whether the result serves your purpose. A more aggressively processed sound is not automatically a better one.

If you prefer the result, download it under a different filename. Listen again before sharing. If it distracts you or changes the feel of the recording, keep the original or make a new recording in a quieter space. A short comparison gives you a useful decision without assuming that every clip should be processed.

Try it yourself

Compare one short voice recording

An Adobe account with Enhance Speech access, a current supported desktop or mobile browser such as Safari, an internet connection, and a supported audio file such as MP3 or WAV within the current plan limits. Check access in your account before uploading; paid features and availability in every region are not assumed.

  1. Keep an untouched original and choose a short nonconfidential audio clip.
  2. Open Enhance Speech, check your plan access, and upload a copy.
  3. Compare the same passage before and after; download only if you prefer it, under a new filename.

What to watch for: Keep the original and listen for changed words or unnatural voice quality. We checked official instructions and access terms; we have not tested the product firsthand.

What it does not prove

These sources are Adobe’s own product and help pages. They establish a documented feature and access limits, not an independent measurement of intelligibility, time saved, or professional recording quality. We did not run a listening test.

Adobe says results depend on how audible the speaker is and how much background noise is present. Do not assume a cleaner-sounding file has recovered words that were impossible to hear. Keep the original as the reference.

The free plan does not include every control shown in general tutorials. Account entitlements and limits can change. Use only recordings you have permission to upload, and check the live plan page before starting a larger project.
